Jimmy C. Jules was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Marie and Jacques Jules. In the late 80’s, due to widespread violence and uprising against the dynastic dictatorship of president Jean-Claude Duvalier, his family migrated to the United States. Unable to obtain a visa for young Jules, his mother, father and younger brother were forced to leave him behind in the care of his grandmother.

Jimmy Picked up a video camera at the age of 13 and began filming for family weddings, Birthday parties and eventually produced his own short with family and friends called the Haunted roof.
