People think acting is just getting in front of a camera and pretending. Nah… the camera will catch you faking. A lot of actors put in the work, show up for auditions, and still don’t book the role. It can be frustrating. One moment you’re booking back to back, the next you’re in a drought. What’s going on, Guys. I’ve been quiet because I’ve been deep in planning, building, trying to get the vision right. But I heard an audio today that stopped me dead in my tracks. It hit me hard because I’ve been living exactly what it was saying. Overthinking. Over-planning. Trying to make everything perfect. And in doing that, I’ve pushed back timelines, missed moments, lost team members, and watched solid opportunities turn into just another idea that never happened. This industry doesn’t always pay well and rarely gives you what you deserve. If I didn’t love it, I wouldn’t still be here. But I do. That’s why I keep pushing. I’m learning from every angle, whether it’s acting, producing, writing or directing. From the Vault to the Feed: I’m not letting these auditions or this footage collect dust. These are the many faces I’ve taken on over the years, characters I’ve embodied for shows like The Walking Dead: Dead City, FBI: Most Wanted, Beverly Hills Cop 4, national commercials, and more. Summer’s around the corner, and I need to know, how many of y’all can relate to this? Dreams only work when you do. They require commitment, patience, and a real love for the process. I’ve always been a dreamer. Years ago, I brought one of those dreams to life by building a successful music business. Since 2009, I’ve been in love with acting. That’s when the craft pulled me in and I began studying and growing in it. Acting has taught me to be vulnerable, to be honest, and most of all, to love myself through every stage of the journey. This year, I added to that journey by taking part in my first stage play, and it gave me a whole new level of respect for the art. Every role and every opportunity continues to shape me not just as an artist, but as a person. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and focused on everything ahead. What Walton Goggins is saying here really hit me. For a long time, I used to walk into auditions and wonder what the casting directors wanted from me too. I would try to figure out how to fit what I thought they were looking for. But like he says, that’s all backwards. So THIS is what happens when you leave your phone in the dressing room…You go out, perform your piece, and the next day you find these gems of selfies sitting in your photo gallery (swipe left for more).
